Student Health Insurance

Let's be honest here. How many college students actually think they need health insurance? How many college
students if they were not on their parents health insurance plan would carry health insurance on their own? If you
are honest with these two questions then certainly you think that you need health insurance. The question is how do
you carry student health insurance, and carry a full load at school?
The first thing any student is going to want to ensure that they have with health insurance is low cost health
insurance. By the way that won't change when the college student reaches middle age.
Some colleges and universities actually have health insurance plans for their students and that's not a bad
place to start looking. These plans are sure to have serious restrictions in the event of a major medical
emergency. Premiums on such policies will vary from state to state and college to college and is based somewhat on
state laws.
College students have one distinct advantage when searching for affordable health insurance. That is the
majority are healthy and young and that's the kind of customers insurance companies are looking for. The cost of
health insurance for a young and healthy 18 to 25-year-old will not be cost prohibitive. Don't make the mistake of
thinking that you or your body are indefensible because you are young and healthy now. Take the time, do some
research and take advantage of affordable premiums while you still can.
